Killdeer Babies

A killdeer decided to make a nest and lay her eggs in our driveway. At least they were smart enough to put it in the center where cars wouldn't run it over, I guess.

The pictures themselves aren't great quality (since they were taken from a distance as the Mama and Papa bird went nuts if you went within a 20-foot radius of the eggs/birds) but they're cute nonetheless. After the first two pictures of the eggs were taken with my Canon, I decided to switch back to my Fuji for high zoom.

Look forward to nature pictures soon as well as some of the kids from a month ago that I have yet to edit.

Outtakes part 1

Sick of the gloomy accident pictures? Then take a look at these, and you'll be sure to smile. These are all the funny, cute pictures that aren't worth editing but still fun to look at:

First Flower of 2009

While the rest of the country got their first flowers, western New York had to wait until nearly May. I discovered this daffodil on Friday (April 24). This morning (Sunday, April 26) there are 10 more.

Windmills

A few miles from my house, there are hundreds of windmills. A couple of weekends ago, we took a drive down and I took over 80 pictures. I haven't even looked at all of them, but this one caught my eye.

The Soldier and his Bride

I know the first one is blurry. Darnit. Blame it on the lighting factor.
